Just got back from a look at the "new"
Mississippi Studio space. Located at 3939 N. Mississippi St.,
Storm Large spanked my ass all the way over there to see what the owner,
Jim Brunberg , (pictured above with Storm) and his crew of busy elves have been up to. The space is going to be a welcome addition to NoPo as it looks like it might house nearly three times the patrons than the old Studio did and is sure to be one of the coolest venues in town once it opens this spring.
And the view from the roof ain't too bad either.
Speaking of Storm, she has been very busy getting ready for both her upcoming Portland Center Stage Show,
Crazy Enough, and her annual holiday concert,
Wonderball '08, at the Wonder Ballroom. That show is going to rock your socks off and so will a piece of art by Alexander Rokoff that features a very sexy looking Storm. The piece was
supposed to make its debut at City Hall, but was deemed too..hmmm...explosive for that staid space, and will be "unveiled" at the holiday show. On the day of the show I hope to be one of the first to share that image with you. You're going to LOVE it.

As for First Thursday I will be joining
Cort & Fat Boy for our weekly chat on their KUFO show around 8 pm. Joining me will be my guest (and fellow BB Window member) James Westby. He's going to talk about his amazing film,
The Auteur, which opens tomorrow night at Cinema 21.
But before that show I plan to head to the Ace Cleaners for the
Urban Art Network show. The Cleaners will be hosting all those artists that usually fill the Pearl District streets with their unique wares. I personally can't get enough of Janet Julian's work. It happens during the usual gallery time of 6 - 9 p.m. with over 20 artists showing their stuff.

And as for tomorrow morning? Well, I will be getting up bright and early to, once again, do play by play for
AMNorthwest's annual
judging of the Gingerbread Houses at the
Festival of Trees. Won't you join me?
The show starts at 9 am sharp.
Until then,
here is my brownie segment from Turkey Day. Enjoy!
