BO KNOWS: Okay, soap opera-lovers, put down the remote and listen up. It looks like none other than Peter Reckell, aka "Bo Brady," from "Days of Our Lives" fame is either currently living or thinking about living in Portland in the near future.
Here is what I recently heard from a friend:
"(Recently) I had a famous soap star in my house looking at an example of a green remodel. He was planning on moving to Portland and...I thought I recognized him. He was reticent to say what he did for a living, but then he said he was an actor. I googled him afterwards and discovered I had just had Peter Reckell, the hunky Bo Brady on Days of our Lives...in my master bathroom and kitchen."
So, does this mean dear Bo is leaving "Days?"
Reckell, according to an always trustyworthy (not!) Wikipedia page has played "Bo Brady on the American soap opera Days of our Lives on and off from 1983 to 1987, 1990 to 1992, and from 1995 to the present." Also of note on his Wiki page is the fact that, although it has been twenty-six years since his debut on Days, it wasn't until this spring that Reckell was nominated for his first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (the winners will be announced later this summer). Talk about your Susan Lucci luck.
But I digress.
A quick Google search uncovered nothing about Reckell leaving the show (although as you can see above he has taken a break from the character for up to three years twice) and I have little to no information on any Reckell sightings around town or in Salem (get it, that's the name of the city he lives in on Days). That said, who knows? Whatever happens it'll be nice to obsess over someone else named "Bo" for a change. Stay tuned.
Here is a clip from his first return in 1990. Love the beard.
