Breaking Media (and Breedlove) Gossip: FOX 12's "Better" Moves East, PDXposed Moves to FOX-12/PDX...and Beau To Be The Next Martha Stewart?

BETTER OFF TO BIG APPLE: Just heard that FOX 12 will no longer produce segments for its BETTER morning show here in Portland. BETTER will now be produced entirely out of Hartford Conn. and New York City. I don't know how this will affect the local personalities who make up the Portland pieces for this nationally broadcast show (including the always amazing Kimberly Maus pictured above) but I already know of one person at the station who is looking for a new job.

Here is more from a press release dated June 29th:
Meredith Corporation is transferring current Meredith Video Solutions production operations from KPTV in Portland, OR to WFSB-TV in Hartford, CT. The relocation will facilitate growth of the Better show by placing these functions closer to the Meredith Video Solutions studio in New York City.
“Better currently broadcasts in 50 markets nationwide and is quickly becoming a player of scale in women’s lifestyle programming,” said Kieran Clarke, Executive Vice President of Meredith Video Solutions. “We believe that the close proximity between New York and Hartford will help grow the show by making production more efficient and cost effective.”
Entering its third season, Better is an hour-long daily show that leverages Meredith’s home, shelter, and parenting expertise. The show is based on content from Meredith’s expansive brand portfolio including Better Homes and Gardens, Parents, Family Circle, More and Fitness magazines.

MORE FOX NEWS: PDXposed, a popular locally-produced entertainment show that got its original shot on local cable but has been strutting its stuff on KGW-TV since last fall, will soon make the big move again and begin broadcasting on FOX 12 and PDX TV.

Jon Olson, a former medical salesperson/party boy pictured above, has served as the host (as well as creator and executive producer) of the cable show since its inception six years ago. The first original programming for what was then ATT Broadband which turned into Comcast.

According to a press release regarding the move, "starting September 12th, the six-time Emmy-nominated local art, travel and entertainment show will air on FOX 12 and PDX TV. “We are excited about the addition of this local program to our line-up. PDXposed reinforces our number one priority which is local TV,” said Patrick McCreery, Vice President and General Manager for the Duopoly. PDXposed will air Saturdays at 8:00pm on PDX TV and Sundays at 6:00pm on FOX 12.

“PDXposed is a great way for people to see what is happening in their community and around the state through our fun and positive stories. We are excited to become a part of the FOX12 and PDX TV Team and with their commitment to high quality, entertaining content, it's a perfect fit!” said Olson.

BEAU FOR HIRE: File this under "good-gossip-if-it's-true," but otherwise realize that I have yet to confirm whether or not Beau Breedlove has actually added a new page to his playbook. According to a very reliable source Breedlove has gone into the "events planning" business and has already lined up events, including a summer wedding somewhere south of Portland, to his social calendar. This is, according to my source, one of the many events that Breedlove plans to produce. Those in the know, know that Breedlove once tried out as intern for April Severson, one of this city's top event producers, who Beau just so happened to be helping out at the opening of The Nines where I snapped the photo above. At that time Beau was already talking about becoming an "events" person says one highly regarded source.
