Byron Beck's Window

He's here. He's queer. He's used to it.

Matt

How about some dish on the how of the why of the departure?

I am sure many of your fans would like to know what happened, your thoughts on the matter, what are you currently doing, what are your future plans, etc.

Enquiring minds want to know... I want to know! :-)

Well, Byron, I miss you and your column soooo much!

I wrote a bitching letter to that publisher and editor telling them that their paper is all fluff and no meat in their sandwich anymore! That is was only good for the bottom of my bird's cage.

But it's a done deal, I for one don't want any details, as that won't alter the future.

I just wish you the very best for your (bright) future.

Yeah and I'm a straight older chick, but just loved your column. It always made me able to tolerate life for the better.

XOXOXOXO

Ruby,
i am thinking about writing a weekly column on this site. What do you think it should be called? And under what section should it run on the site?
best,
byron

I don't know if I'd recommend ning.com for your future plans, Byron. Ning just created a huge refugee crisis on the internet by closing ALL Adult sites on their network with only a couple days notice. It's been a nightmare for us gay guys who socialize online. Two of my former ning sites have now migrated to socialgo.com, but they are overwhelmed by the huge numbers of adults leaving ning. Ning claims their action results from poor advertising returns, but I find that hard to believe. I suspect that ning is responding to pressure from religious fanatics.
Bye the way, I miss reading your work at WW and wish you the best of luck whatever you do.

I wouldn't describe your window as adult content, but I'm not the censor here. Your content should be fine. And still interesting too! - David

Byron,

You've been WW's merry ambassador, always on the scene and working it. Their loss. Not to sound all psychic, but I see wonderful things in your future. V

Is it just my Cow instincts or aren't those two words kind of synonymous these days? possibly "The Queer Vista" of course, vista is kind of an obscure way of saying view, so you could just go with "The Queer View" for the layman's verse.

-The Cow

Post Script. Byron, your not fat. So stop saying it.

Hey WordSpice-
I'm very, very anxious to hear the story of how all of this came about, and understand that you're not ready to talk. But this advice.. "Should I be angry at a newsweekly and further my boycott of Portland newspapers (Can't read the Oregonian, as I think that it's crap)? Please advise.

It looks like Byron is in good (or at least legendary) company.
